SEEMS EARLY TO ME THIS YEAR ....
It’s time to renew your hunting license and apply for deer management permits
Just a friendly reminder that 2023-24 hunting licenses and privileges are on sale now! The Deer Management Permit (DMP) application period runs from now through October 1. Sporting licenses, privileges and permits for the 2023-24 license year can be obtained in person at any one of DEC’s 1,200 license issuing outlets or online through the DEC website (please allow 14 business days for receipt of hunting licenses and permits ordered online). For information on how to apply for DMPs online and other useful information, check out our Customer Help Center.
Hunters must apply for DMPs by October 1 and should review their chances of selection before applying. The DMP application fee is $10.00. The fee is waived for junior hunters and Lifetime (Sportsmen) License holders who purchased on or before October 1, 2009. DEC's automated licensing system allows hunters to know immediately whether or not they were selected to receive their deer management permits, whether purchasing in person or online.
If you have already renewed your license and applied for your DMPs, please disregard this message and thank you for renewing!
When purchasing your licenses and privileges, please also consider purchasing a Habitat & Access Stamp. With the purchase of a $5 Habitat & Access Stamp, you can help fund projects aimed at protecting and improving fish and wildlife habitat, and improving access for fish and wildlife related activities. For more information on Habitat & Access Stamps, visit our website.
DEC would also like to remind hunters to report the harvest of any deer, bear or turkey taken this fall. Harvest reporting is the law and is critical to wildlife management. It is now easier than ever to quickly and correctly report your harvest by using the HuntFishNY mobile app! The app is available through the Apple App Store or Google Play! For information on game harvest reporting, please visit our website.
Remember: Take It, Tag It, Report It!
