Hey Gary, lot's of sign, but no sightings.  Was going to take a walk up where you're thinking, but decided to stay low where there was more water.  Was over on the land I own on Whispell.  Lots of acorns and the beech nuts look like they might be good this year.

Got into a lot of sign this weekend and a close call with a mama bear and cub but no shooters.  The mama bear we saw was actively feeding on beech nuts. This was sullivan county

took my buddy out Sunday after noon after his first bear, i hiked him way up the mountain thru no sign at all until we got to the flat i norm sit on, where we were lucky to find two fresh piles of poo, sat there from 4 till 6:03pm when this guy came walking thru, and my buddy was able to connect with his first ever Catskill mountain black bear, we were unable to get on a scale but assume some where between 375-425, my buddy is 6'3, 320LBS
p.s thank goid he has a good group of friends that were willing to hike back up that mountain and helped drag this bugger out
also please advise via pm who he should take to get a European mount done
