Title: Laker Jigging advice
Post by: wardy on February 26, 2021, 10:24:35 PM
Heading up to the Schroon tournament  and maybe play on lake George for a few days next week. I am kinda new to jigging on ice and never caught a laker before. Could use a little advice on flouro leader,lb test, lures to bring, colors and some basic techniques. I got a decent fisher finder(helix 5). Any advice that could help shorten my learning curve would be greatly appreciated. Thks,Wardy

Did pretty good on our trip. Only one laker caught on jig about 12 caught on tiip-ups. Biggest maybe 8lbs. Lost one good Pike at hole, jigged up a bunch of smelt and used as tipup bait. A few small perch some ciscos, lots of venison goodies, Kentucky sippin moonshine and a ton of laughs with the boys. Not bad for my first LG trip!!!
