Looks like NYC is going to go through with draining the Pepacton down to 20% to replace a valve in the outlet tube. :'(

"They" have been talking about this for years.

Several years ago NYC and the Delaware County Electric Coop where talking about installing some type electric generator in the pipe line, which apparently they are not going to do.

A few years back I think it was 2016, they lowered Schoharie Reservoir for some work on the dam (or whatever, not really sure why) and it exposed a whole lot of shoreline.  I hiked in there a bit with my GF, and we were amazed at how far the boats were from the waterline.  It also dropped the pool level enough to expose Devasego Falls, which are located at the other end from the dam, closer to Prattsville.  I get a little excited about dropping water levels for a few reasons like these.  The fish are more concentrated and easier to access, and all that exposed land offers a chance to discover stuff that's been under water for a long, long time.

I'm looking to waypoint the old Shavertown iron bridge and of course other long forgotten features.

I drove over the Shavertown bridge on Friday, the water is really high, some boats are partially submerged.
