What a coincidence I ran into Kingston to have my pistols put on my daughter's permit then walked into the woods detecting and find this..

Wow , that’s been there for a long time ….
Was it on land or under water ?
Was it deep beneath the surface ?
That’s interesting….

Very cool find!
I like that you were able to pretty much track it down for what make/model too.
I'd like to hear that thing's story.

Nice find!
Surprisingly the grip is in good condition, being buried for such a long time.

Very cool find! I also would love to know the story behind it. Seems a bit suspicious, but if was used as a murder weapon would they have even had the ability to match the bullet to the gun back then?
Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.

I think that the time that has passed, and the likely rust and erosion of the bore would make any kind of forensic analysis or matching impossible.  Probably doubtful there is a bullet someplace that needs to be matched to a gun too, don't think they kept them long ago, but who knows?
