Got into my stand at 6:03, really dark morning.  Heard a few shots some distance away and then a little before 8, saw movement through the trees.  Eventually realized it was a buck, so got the rifle ready and he kept getting closer and closer.  At about 50 yards I decided that it was time.  Ran about 40 yards after the shot and then collapsed.  My watch said 7:57.  Whole top of his heart was ripped up from the shot, amazing that he ran as far as he did.
