It’s about the right time, only the weather hasn’t been very good, it’s best when it goes below freezing at night and warm sunny days….we have had the daytime weather, but it would be better if it went in to the mid to high 20s at night….we shall see 🤷‍♂️

I know a few people are saying they're not doing it because the temps aren't right.

Thinking about this makes me in the mood for some flapjacks with apple chunks and of course some hot maple syrup and butter (I always heat it first with a good heaping blob of butter) Getting the cast iron out and hot now :D

As it turns out, we did have a really nice stretch of weather that would have been great for sap, but I didnt do any this year, maybe next year 🤷‍♂️

My son's in-laws have a maple farm 1/2 hr outside of Syracuse, NY.  They have been having a good year with the warm days and cold Spring nights below 32'.  Nice set up with the sugar bush on a good sized hill up above the sap house making the pipe line work the sap without having to empty buckets.  Still like all farming--lots of WORK!  You need a Dr once in a while, same with a lawyer, dentist and priest--don't curse too much at farmers, because most people need them 3 times a day.  Food and cotton don't fall out of the sky or just show up at Walmart--someone grows it. 8)
