Drifting with live herring question
« on: May 02, 2022, 12:15:47 PM »
I have a question for the guys and gals that drift with live herring.
When drifting do you have your pole in locked position so that when the fish takes it they automatically set the circle hook or do you run a tight baitfeeder so when they hit they can still run with the bait prior to setting the hook with a circle hook?
It's always more fun in the woods

Baitfeeder not engaged but I do back off the main drag so it can take a bit if it is bigger fish.
