I have a new batch to try out this weekend! These ones look much better, they are smooth and flexible.

652 reads on this thread already. I'd say that Aric is on to something here. Can't wait to test these bad boys out

Another update...

The prototypes I made work well but were not easily to produce in quantity. There were also some issues I found with the material. I am working with a company in Rosendale that can make injection molds. Also producing them this way I can use the same material as the old ones. I should know more by the end this week.

Update:

The injection mold is finally finished, but there is an issue with the design. I'm not %100 happy with it. I'm still working on it though and haven't forgotten about the project.

I have to ask, I've been fishing for a very long time and have never seen one of these before, what exactly do they do?

they hold your line in place well keeping the bail open so when a fish hits, you will notice the line going out, thus called a strike guard best use in my opinion is out of a boat well trying to suspend bait at a certain depth, but can be used from shore as well, form shore best used during day light due to fact there is little to no noise when a hit occurs, I also use them well ice fishing so I can leave a jigging pole un attended well I check tip ups or do other things kinda of makes sure I wont lose the pole down the hole unless I run out of line

sportsman helping sportsman,
they are a very good tool to have in your tackle box I just remember the first one I bought was $2.79 at shokan bend in 92' and the last one I bought was at toms in wawarsing in 10' I think it was either $12.99 or $13.99, was amazed at how the price inflated on them, one thing my father duct tapes his to his reservoir rods, being we have had a few pop off well placing in the rod holder so be careful they sink quick
