As you can see in this picture, I use Neoprene gloves and a pair of scissors to trim off claws & legs, then snip them in half . . . . .I always do it once anchored and use the claws & legs as chum to ring the dinner bell!

Looks like the crab tried to cut your pointer off---need to get a new glove 8)
how would you describe the Tautog flavor--and please don't say it taste like fish......

How far is the run to where your boat is?

    Fresh Blackfish-Black Seabass salad . . . . .
. . . substitute Blackfish & Black seabass for Striper in recipe below!

. . . . . . . . .
Striper Salad
Yield: 6 appetizer portions (or sandwiches)

Plate Components
Ingredient                   Amount
Striped Bass, skinned, cooked, broken up - 1lb.

Onions, small dice¾ea.
Celery, peeled, sm. dice2stalks
Lemon juice1tsp.
Mayonnaise¾ - 1cup
Hard-cooked egg, chopped1ea.
Salt , black pepper, grnd., Old Bay seas.t.t.
Flat leaf parsley, chopped1tsp.

Method
1. Season striped bass fillets with salt, black pepper and Old Bay seasoning. Bake in 375° oven until the fish flakes when pressed gently. (10-12 mins.) Cool completely.
2. When cold, break striped bass up into pieces to resemble canned tuna fish.
3. Place the fish in a mixing bowl with remaining ingredients. Toss to mix well but do not break fish up too much. Season to taste with salt, black pepper and Old Bay seasoning.
4. Serve on crackers or as sandwiches as you would egg salad or tuna salad.
