Just picked up a model 70 featherweight custom stainless and 243. What are you using for deer size game ammo? Thanks

I have the same gun in lightweight not featherweight, Used it for many years as it was my first deer rifle.  I used Remington core lock 100gr and it always worked well. It wouldn’t always go through but the bullet would often be just under the skin of the opposite shoulder.  Good luck.

I have the best success with Winchester 100 grain soft points.  I tried the Deer season ammo but they didn’t do the job as well in my opinion.

my daughter has used both 80 grain and 100 grain Remington corelokt and has dropped 3 so far, all dropped without running. I be also shot a bear with.243, it dropped, but that was expected since I shot it in the eye.
