I used to fish it years ago for smallmouth especially near Montgomery and New Paltz, same for the Wappingers Creek in Duchess C.

senkosam I have a ton of experience fishing the wallkill. from walden all the way down to rosendale area. loaded with smallmouth. Spring is a great time as temps warm up and fish start moving upstream to spawn. walleye are a little harder to find but there are some big ones in there for sure. The stretch from gardiner to new paltz is very productive

Good SMB and good big eyes--Try night fishing with red jigs and white twisters.  I posted my PB eye on here-- don"t know if it got taken down to keep computer space open or not.
