What fish is this?

A guy at marina caught this at dock and I'm not familiar with species.  What is it?

I think it’s an adult shiner but looks fat kinda like a rud

Not sure , but I caught a gold fish that big in rondout creek...
Must have been released from the kids fish bowl ...
Strange stuff in that Creek    :-)

I looked it up on google i never heard of a rudd but it does look like one. I have used these for bait for bass friend got a nice stripper on one the other day.

That's a Rudd, gold shiner has smaller scales and to be honest its probably a hybrid, rudds and gold shiners can spawn together. I had them in a pond yrs ago and witnessed this.
