Bear scat?
« on: November 01, 2020, 12:30:21 PM »
Sorry for being gross, but can anyone identify this poop? It looks way too big to be from a racoon, and it's not from a dog for sure, it has seeds in it. I'm thinking bear, but this is from mid Westchester, not really a bear hot spot. A bear was taken by a bowhunter very close by two seasons ago, and reports of sightings are popping up more frequently, so it is possible. Thoughts?

it looks like it came out of the South end of a bear looking North to me.  If its in Zone 3S Westchester County it is a smart bear in a bowhunting only zone. 8)

Looks to be bear to me, usually its in a pile or more like solid logs. Size color and contents are consistent with bear eating nuts and seeds.
