Opening day of duck season.

Guys and gals tomorrow is opener of our areas duck season so if your deer hunting near water don’t get mad if ya hear some shooting. Be safe everyone and enjoy the outdoors!

We hunt out of a duck blind . If we shoot one we get in the boat and go get it. Nice when it’s cold and have heater and coffee and food cooking 😁

Strange goose in my field , Brent goose - Atlantic version..
Very cool small bill goose , about the size of a large mallard...
Winters off the North American coast, breeds up in the arctic...

Maybe got blown off coarse with some of the recent hurricanes ..
Any Hudson River hunters ever see one of these ?
He hung out resting and eating grass for a few hours , then he was on his way .

He didn't appear injured , but would let me get about 10 feet from him before he would move away .
Very strange behavior, I thought at first he was some kind of domestic breed ..

Yes. Brant fly south along the Hudson every fall. Typically flying in big flocks. And during Striper season you’ll see them flying back north. Nothing unusual at all to see them out on the River. There’s even a daily bag limit of 2 for them. Pretty strange that he ended up at your house though unless you’re close to the river. I don’t recall seeing them off the Hudson
