Quad 4 Wheeler Recommendations
« on: September 07, 2020, 07:20:01 AM »
Time to upgrade my 2 boys to bigger ATV's.  Ive sold all their old stuff and am currently looking to buy 1 possibly 2 4x4 quads.  May go new with 1 but not sure.
Wondering what you have had good luck with.  Im looking at Polaris Sportsman 500 570, Honda Rancher 350 420, Yamaha Grizzly / Bruin.

I'm not a big fan of the giant ones.  Want something they can get around the woods with.  If used,  ive been looking for something with less than 1000 miles on it that has not been beaten or molested.
Any advise would be great.  Thanks!

I'm not a go fast fan so I go for the tool that I can get the most work from-- power dump, 2 or 4 seater, 2 or 4WD.  Granted-- not a small rig but will haul what I need on the farm as long as I'm on a log road.  Also acts as a tool station with set tools that are always on it. Not a bushwhacker but in my stage of life I've found that bushwacking with a rig is a great way to destroy a rig.  I've owned several 4 wheelers and will buy another one as soon as the note on this one is paid.  All the "working small rigs" I see on farms I think that my next one will be a Honda with at least a 700 size with power steering.

Yamaha grizzly has been a great quad for me.Never had any issues even plowing a couple driveways with it.

I haven’t had any issues with the Polaris Sportsman 500.

The ATVs mentioned so far are really designed more for work than fun. I suspect that your boys would have more fun with a rear wheel drive machine like a Yamaha Raptor or Honda TRX. I have a Raptor 350 for myself and a couple of smaller Raptors for my grandchildren and we have a lot of fun with them. They won't plow snow or carry a deer out of the woods.  :)
