Nice young one, I'm guessing the crock pot will be filled with a nice beaver burgundy stew soon!  People have no clue how much work goes into keeping the beaver population in check.  Running wild it may be great for wilderness areas but watch how the romance fizzles out when people have their roads flood over or timber, farmland, backyards and buildings put in threat. This is a classic lesson of how a few enviromotionalists have influenced the general populations of people who have not made their minds up what is right and what is wrong. If NY has an open season on them to licensed sportsman we know that it's in the best interest of the environment to keep the population in check!

Well said, beaver populations will be out of control with fur marked crash and less trappers. Trapping is a lot of work, but fun, Beaver meat is one of the best game meats IMO.
