Buck rub marks
« on: November 21, 2019, 03:19:41 PM »
I noticed something strange on my deer . He has two distinct areas on his back , where the hair is rubbed off , creating bald spots ..   At first I thought , maybe he was  going under a fence a lot .
Then I realized, these bald areas match up with his rear antler tines . He seems to have rubbed the hair off , when working a licking branch over a scrape ...this is the first time I've seen this ..
Anyone else ever see this ?
you cook good rabbit pilgrim

I don't get up at 4 AM to play catch and release .

With the older class of bucks we have now we are seeing things we never have in most of ny actual buck dominance more extreme rut behavior and I believe what you are referring to is a testosterone itch that they scratch with antlers I have noticed this more and more in last few years
