"UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL" > NYS SAFE ACT

Safe Act Field Guide

(1/1)

Big Tom:
See attached pdf.
This document I believe was released yesterday, Oct. 2nd 2013. It may shed some light on the law for some of you.

If we can get some one to sticky this I think it be a good idea.

at the bottom of page 12....

If a person becomes ineligible to hold a pistol permit, the Safe Act requires the person to surrender all firearms to police, including all rifles and shotguns for which no license or registration is required.

Does that mean if a person applies for a pistol permit and is declined for whatever reason he/she would be expected to surrender any long guns that they may have?  >:(

walkabout:
thats some bullcrap isn't it?

aokmorelli:
I know it's written in the state police guide but where is written in the penal law. I do not see it anywhere that you have to turn in all your guns if your ineligible for CC
